THE FUTURE OF FIBER OPTIC SENSING

Conventional sensors falling short of emerging application needs

Fiber-optic sensor technology is increasingly used for its application in harsh environments including extreme low-to-high temperatures, pressure, shock, vibration, radiation, corrosive conditions, and high electromagnetic fields. While fiber-optic sensor adoption has increased in recent years, innovation and quality has not kept pace with rapidly evolving needs for higher performance and lower cost solutions. At the forefront of this innovation gap are limitations imposed by the choice and availability of newer, higher performance electro-optic materials and solutions.

The resulting price-performance gap has affected OEMs: high cost-per-measurement channel, insufficient high-temperature solutions, persistent product failures, limited part interchangeability, lack of standardization resulting in increased inventory levels, high field service breakage, and inability to seamlessly substitute one supplier for another has resulted in little design flexibility and over-dependence on a single supplier.

Enter Accelovant

Accelovant was founded with a vision to reimagine the fundamental material science that underpins fiber-optic sensor reliability, cost, and performance. Accelovant’s goal is to improve your yield and thermal performance by developing new material systems that can push boundaries and create new frontiers in fiber-optic science. Accelovant’s products increase performance and reliability, and reduce cost-per-measurement channel and inventory cost.

  • Accelovant’s sensors use Kristonium™, a proprietary solid-state photo-luminescent material system that is more durable, reliable, and precise — increasing performance and reliability in fiber-optic sensors.

  • 10x accuracy improvement: Accelovant’s sensors provide the highest accuracy, independent of calibration. Our sensors provide the same exceptional performance and are interchangeable with Accelovant electo-optic controllers.

  • Wider temperature range: Accelovant’s solid state, non-magnetic fiber-optic measurement technology can support -100°C to 700°C.

  • Reduced inventory costs, greater flexibility: With our highly configurable products there are fewer discrete part numbers, lower inventory, improved fill rates, and lower service inventory needs.

  • Failure-proof and future-proof products are designed to increase reliability, eliminate potential failure modes, and have the use-case flexibility to stay ahead of application requirements.

  • A solution for upgrades and retrofits: Accelovant can improve flexibility for field retrofit, out-of-warranty, and upgrade applications to extend tool life. With our plug-and-play retrofit program you can replace legacy plastic sensors with Accelovant’s solid-state sensors.

  • Your experienced partner in fiber-optic measurement solutions: Accelovant’s team of engineers, process experts, chemists, physicists, optical, and electro-optics engineers understand the demands equipment makers face and are ready to help.

  • Lifetime support: With Accelovant’s lifetime support+, the same Copy Exactly! sensor solutions are available for years to come.
